FINESSE study - is facilitation PCI in acute myocardial infartion the false way ?

FINESSE study didn´t confirm expected benefit of PCI facilitation in acute myocardial infarction by half dose reteplase with abciximab or abciximab alone before transportation to cathetrisation centre. The results could have been affected adversely by enrollement of patients, who presented from 3 to 6 hours after the beginning of symptoms, suboptimal antiplatelet therapy or immediately performed PCI in cases when TIMI flow 3 was reestablished after pharmacologic intervention.
