Despite advances in pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment, cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in developed countries. This case report introduces a case of a 41-year-old female patient who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during skiing, which required cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection, and cerebral hemorrhage were excluded by performing a computed tomography scan. Subsequently, a critical finding was observed on coronary angiography, necessitating a triple aortocoronary bypass surgery with good effect. In the next phase, familial hypercholesterolemia was diagnosed and combined hypolipidemic treatment was given with only a partial effect on the lipid profile; therefore, the patient was indicated to treatment with subtilisin/kexin-type proprotein convertase. The article also deals with the incidence, prevalence, and causes of sudden cardiac arrest and familiare hypercholesterolemia.
