Interventional cardiac procedures from the anesthesiologist´s paint of view

Increasing number of patients scheduled for an interventional procedure such as electrophysiological diagnostic studies, ablations of

arrhythmia pathways, placement of pacemakers or implantable cardioverters/defibrillators or heart valve implantations, and the medical

conditions of the patient population, resulted in an increasing demand for the consultation and care provided by anesthesiologists, in

selected group of this patients. This article discusses some of the anesthesia aspects of these specific procedures.
