Coarctation of the aorta is a generalized involvement of the arterial system leading to premature atherosclerosis with increased mortality
from coronary and cerebral events. The diagnosis is established in childhood in most patients, with residual findings such as re-coarctacion,
pseudoaneurysm, and hypertension prevailing in adulthood. Patients with coarctation require follow-up in a specialized center.
